Is Town Home living right for you?

A town home may bring different images to your mind, depending on what you think a town home looks like. Maybe you think of a row of town homes from New York City or Washington D.C.

There are many misconceptions about town homes having long narrow dark room. I think this town home prove that this is not the case. This home is currently for sale in Dallas, TX for $379,900.00 and it has 2,383 sq. ft.

This painted brick exterior is beautiful and the tree's and landscaping make it all the more gorgeous.

I am a big fan of open space living, and this really works!

Love this outdoor space with plenty of space for the grill, table and chairs with an umbrella and I absolutely adore the wall fountain and the brick pavers.
This kitchen has tons of cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, hardwood floors, and hanging pendants.
A generous size Dining Room with the chandelier and the side lights on each side of the window along with the hardwood floors make this a wonderful Dining Room for formal or casual dining.

This town home is also for sale in Dallas TX, and it is priced at $439,00 and it has 3 bedrooms and 3-1/5 Baths and 2080 sq. ft. What I really like is the exterior space. The interior space has been updated. Personally I would still need to update the kitchen, but the other spaces are just waiting for your arrival.

How many town homes can you find with this much green space!
I adore all of this greenery, the shrubs and the hanging trees, even the color of the fence and I like the sidewalk and entry steps up to the house.

Okay, so you not only get a gorgeous front space on this town home but you also get this rear fenced in yard as well with easy to care for plants and trees. I do believe I would do some more planting.
Look at all these windows, natural light and privacy!

This is the living room. Please use your imagination for just a moment and envision all these book cases filled with books and decorative items. The hardwood floors look amazing.

On this last one what really stands out to me is the exterior and the staircase. This home is priced at $400,000 and has 3 bedroom and 3.5 baths, 2,627 sq. ft. Also it's HOA is only $130.00 per month.

A Mediterranean exterior with the rounded walls and balconies.
From this view it has a courtyard type feel with lots of trees and grass.

This staircase feels like a million dollars. HOWEVER, where is the wood? They have wood treads on the main level but not above that. Okay, this needs to be completed all in wood, and that's not cheap, but if all the rest is good, then maybe that's okay.

Love this Foyer with the curved staircase, tiled floor, wood door, hanging lights and the textured walls. What a great entry to greet your guest.

Is Condo living right for you?

Is a condo for you? Do you live on your own, or is it just you and your husband, or partner? Have your children flown the coop? Do you already live in a city, or wish you did? Do you like to be able to walk to shopping and restaurants? Maybe you travel a great deal, or would rather spend your weekends out with friends going to sporting events, or museums. Whatever your lifestyle might be, maybe a condo is just the perfect solution for you.

This condo is at 2885 Woodside St, #106, Dallas, TX 75204, which is in Uptown. This is in The Manor at State Thomas building.

It is priced at $344,500.00 and it has 1,661 sq ft with 2 bedrooms & 2-1/2 baths, with HOA dues of $443.00 per month, it was built in 2000.

If you would like more information then go to: http://www.trulia.com/property/1085121895-2885-Woodside-St-106-Dallas-TX-75204

It has wonderful molding details, hardwood floors, and neutral paint colors.

The living room has a fireplace with a wood mantel and a marble surround.

There is a wonderful landscaped pool.

A kitchen with cream colored cabinets, with stainless steel appliances which includes a double oven and gas range and a wine frig, as well as a dishwasher, granite counter tops and hardwood floors.

This Dining Room is the perfect size for a casual dining room. With all the local restaurants I don't know how much you would use the dining room or the kitchen.

A fully tiled shower.

This pool looks so relaxing. You know what is really nice - not having to maintain this pool, or clean the leaves out, or put in chemicals. That is why you pay an HOA, so you don't have to worry about a thing, except enjoying yourself. Nice.

There is only a one car garage, this is my only complaint, but maybe you only need one car.

The American Airlines Center is just minutes away, you could walk, or take the Trolley, or take a quick cab ride.

Denton Jazz & Art Fetival

My husband and I went to the Denton Jazz and Art Festival in Denton Texas this past Saturday. We got a little too much to eat, a little too much sun, enjoyed listening to jazz music and saw some amazing art.

A beautiful clay piece of art, "Her time of Discovery."

Another clay piece, "becoming yourself takes time, patience and understanding."

A large glass pendant by, www.glassdesignbydarylcohen.com

These three pieces are by Ping Irvin and you can see more of her work at www.craigirvin.com/ping

By far this was my favorite art this weekend. His name is Herschel. He has painted onto old barn wood. This  feels so pure and uncomplicated. To see more of his work go to www.gallerythree3three.com

Of course there was plenty of music. There were lots of stages with all different kinds of music at each one.

 It was a good day.

Art & Music Festival

Tomorrow my husband & I are going to the 33rd Annual Denton Jazz Festival, in Denton Texas, which is just north of Dallas. I just love going to music and art festivals, everyone is so relaxed and chilled out, which is nice to see in Dallas. Here are some of the things I hope to enjoy!

Some amazing art by Holderby.
Some amazing custom jewelry by Anne Vogt.
Watch, yes watch some athletic people, well be athletic.

Listen to some amazing jazz. Hope it reminds me of New Orleans music. Chilling!!

And lets not forget about all the incredible food. I guess I should wear my comfortable clothes. Pictures to follow in the next few days.

Swimming pools make me more peaceful.

I absolutely love pools. I just love being around them. I grew up on the Chesapeake Bay, but I moved away, and I guess I have been craving the water ever since. When I am around a pool it actually makes me more peaceful. I also love fountains, if I can't get a pool, then at least let me hear the movement of water. However, I do not have a pool of my own right now, so I gathered some pictures of some pools and I am finding that just looking at them makes me more peaceful. What brings you peace?

Gunite pool with an attached spa. It looks like brick paver's around the pool and spa. I also love the vines growing over the arbor. Looks like the perfect back yard.

This yard reminds me of Key West. I love how it is all enclosed, wrapped up in a lovely package. Plenty of overhangs to get into the shade. I could stay here all day.
This is one of my favorite! I just love the little room with the beds attached. Honestly I would change out the furniture and put a little sitting area with a patio table & chairs. I love all the greenery. I am ready to chill - big time!

The color & reflection in the pool make this backyard very peaceful. Loving the rocks along the one side and the paver's along the other side, with a touch of grass.
Okay, this is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. What's not to love? It is perfection.
