I went to Amelia Island in Florida with my sisters for sisters weekend, and now I am fixated on beach decor. I do not have a beach house, or a lake house, or even a pond house. Actually I live in an apartment and the only water I see is in the pool. But a girl can dream, can't she!
At Amelia Island I saw these standing lamps. There is a center pole that keeps it all together, but the branches are lose and very light. It just feels like they went down to the water and picked these up after a storm, OR, they fell out of the trees on the property here in on the island. Either way I just like them so much. I like the linen shades also.
I also love the table in the middle that is decorated with the brass tacks. It appears that there are three drawers, but there aren't. This table could be easily made. Look at that simple branch on the center of the table. Isn't it amazing how a simple piece of tree branch can be so decorative & it didn't cost a thing. All over the island there were punches of tangerine color - feels like a burst of sunshine.
When you first walk into the resort this is the lighting fixture in the entry. Swooning..... It is a simple design actually and anyone wanting to have something like it could do it for just a little money. Loving this wood ceiling.
In the condo there was this simple basket with these incredible shells. I can just look at this basket of shells and hear the waves.
Can you just see a picture of something and immediately a past memory or a place comes to mind? I love how instantly I can get transferred to a time and place just by seeing something or the aroma of something. I think I might need to make me a branch lamp, or at least go pick up a piece of a tree branch. A twig would work!
