Trends and Bill Rancic at Sneak Peek Dallas Market Part 3

I saw many interesting things and new trends at the Sneak Peek at the Dallas Market Center and one that I really liked was the French influence script, writings and images on chairs and pillows. If you would like to read about Part 1 of the Sneak Peek which concentrated on Lighting Trends go here and if you would like to read about Part 2 of the Sneak Peek in which I shared information about Amy Howard and her Rescue, Restore, Redecorate products available to the DIY community then go here.
Note: If you are using google reader to be alerted about my new post, well it will no longer be available as of July 1, but you can switch to  bloglovin, or you can receive my post by email, just look to the box on the right hand side of this post.

We also got a real treat at the International Folk Art Market Collection. You can go to the actual International Folk Art Market in Santa Fe this coming July 12th, 13th and 14th of 2013. For more information please go to www.folkartmarket.org There are some amazing artist and I would highly encourage you to attend. Here are just a few examples of their work.

There was a tremendous amount of unstained, natural wood.

Oh, one last thing. I got to meet Bill Rancic. He was kind enough to have breakfast with us and speak to us all. Then we got to hear him give a talk on, "How to Succeed in Business and Life." We were also given a copy of his book by the same title. He really is down to earth and very nice. He's not hard to look at either.

I hope you enjoyed seeing all the trends from the Sneak Peek at the Dallas Market Center. Which trends do you see yourself incorporating into your interiors - if any?

    1. Hey Lynne:
It was a pleasure to be able to take part in the Sneak Peek. I don't feel the need to be "in trend," but I certainly like knowing what is out there. I must say it did get my mind going on doing a little redecorating myself.
      Thanks, Patty

    1. Thank you Marty. The Dallas Market Center is huge and yes there was so very much to take in and process. Everything is thankfully not for everyone, I just choose what excites me and I know we all do the same. Glad you enjoyed the pictures and thank for the compliment.
      Thanks, Patty

  4. Thanks for stopping by, Patty! I have never been to a market like this. Some things are very fancy and opulent! I too like the chairs with scripts. Hubby and I hit some rough patches in the last few years during the recession too. I think it was a perfect storm for many. We decided to take a good hard look at our life, assess what was really important to us, make decisions about scaling back for good, and then we went from there. We haven't looked back! I finally understood that it is all just "stuff" and there is always more of it (stuff) if one really wants it!

    1. Hey! I had been to Atlanta's Mart in Atlanta many times, but this was my first time to the Dallas Mart and yes it is very large. I understand what you are saying about hitting some rough patches, as my husband and I took a pretty good fall ourselves. You are absolutely correct in that it is just stuff. Don't get me wrong, I like stuff, but we didn't and don't need but so much stuff. I like to think this fall has made me more appreciative of the more important things in life.
      Thanks, Patty

  13. I loved going to market with you. Wonderful photos. It's a good thing I wasn't really there. I would have wanted to buy every piece of furniture that was upholstered in a script fabric. I loved all of those you showed. I can only laugh at how our home would look if all of the furniture could be read! laurie
