Tradd Street Charleston SC

I love books, all kinds of books, but especially novels and books on interior design and houses in general. So when I found the book, "The House On Tradd Street," by Karen White, I was very excited. A novel, a mystery, and most importantly a book about a house, a historical house that she inherits that needs to be renovated. Oh, I loved this book and best of all it is a series, which I never read a series, but I have already started on my second book in this series.

This fictional house is located at 55 Tradd Street, but it is based on a house she saw in Charleston at 125 Tradd Street. The mystery part of the story is that, "Melanie," the main character can communicate with ghost, but if ghost stories aren't your usual cup a tea, then don't let that stop you from reading this book because, it is not my cup of tea either, but the ghost in her novel aren't going to make you not want to continue to read this incredible novel. If you love old houses, renovation, real estate, a little bit of a mystery and Charleston, SC well then this book is for you.

This is the house that the book was based on at 125 Tradd Street. Karen describes the house in detail in her book. Don't you just want to go sit on one of the three piazzas and grab her book and a glass of ice tea and enjoy the day. The door you see faces the side street, and the front of the house faces Tradd Street.

I have to admit that I have never actually been to Charleston, but I have read so much about it through books, especially Pat Conroy books that I feel like I have been there. Here are some other stunning homes located on Tradd Street in Charleston, SC

Yes, I do think I could live here, if I only had $2,990,000. dollars, which I don't. Oh, well, I can enjoy looking all the same.

If you are interested in this novel and this author you can find her books at Amazon.
Here is the website for Karen White and all of her books.
I think I need to arrange a trip to Charleston, SC. It reminds me a lot of New Orleans, and all of the amazing historical homes there.
Have you ever renovated a home? If so I would love for you to tell me about your experience.

  1. That sounds like a great book. I think I may get it to read while I am spending time in Charleston in a couple of weeks! You must visit Charleston. I have been many places but Charleston is one of my favorite cities in the world. I may be biased being a South Carolinian but the homes and gardens of Charleston are spectacular!
