First Monday Trade Days in Canton Texas

I went to First Monday Trade Days in Canton Texas this past weekend. As you can see it is a very large place and it was overwhelming at first. I was glad I wore very comfortable shoes.
You can find everything here and then some. I bought a few things. In a shabby chic booth I bought three handmade rosettes with different pieces of lace attached to them. They have pins on the back so you can attach them to anything and I bought the two pieces on the opposites ends which are different pieces of material and lace tied up together. I am going to use these five pieces to attach to a crochet pillow I am making.
Forever...I have been looking for a dough bowl and haven't been able to find any that aren't huge in size. I found this bowl, which they were calling a dough bowl, but I think it is more of a carved wood bowl. I love it, and it will serve the many decorating purposes I have been wanting one for.
I found this sugar mold. They had every size and color you could imagine, but I ended up choosing this blond colored one with seven holes. I am thinking of all the things I can put in the holes besides the obvious. What do you put in yours?
The last item I found was a wooden baguette mold. I had never seen one of these before, but they had a bunch of them. I am thinking of decorating it with different color beans, or small candles and some greenery for Christmas. I think I need to make an Italian dish tonight so I can use this item.
It was a good day!  I will go back to Canton, Texas again for First Monday Trade Days, which is held once a month. It is a most interesting place, out in the country, with a lot of country people who reminded me greatly of my father and where I grew up. In the buildings it was crowded and very busy, but outside people were mingling about and it was uncrowded and peaceful.  The weather was beautiful and it was a good day to be outside, and a good day to be out in the country.

  8. Hi Patty!! I'm commenting here on one of your old posts. I just Googled dough bowls and your post popped up. Made me realize you haven't been posting lately. I'm going to Canton at the end of this month and a dough bowl is on my list. My mom has the real thing that is several generations old. It's one of her most prized treasures. :)

You need to get back to blogging girl. Hope you are fine. :)
