Word of the Year - Bloom

It is hard to choose one word to inspire me throughout the year of 2014.
The first word I thought of was growth.
I love to learn new things and through learning new things there is always growth.
I thought of the word thorough, because I want to be
careful, complete and meticulous in my sharing of information and beautiful photos with you.
I want to be creative and grow my blog substantially through better storytelling
styling, photography and home tours.

At the end of this year I want to be more evolved than I am right now.
Isn’t that what we all want?
To grow, to be thorough in the process and evolve.
To bloom like a flower.
But flowers bloom and then they die, and that is not what I want
I want to continue to evolve and continue to grow.

As humans I think we are more like the tides.
The water comes in and it goes out.
There is a time for everything.
Some days will be uneventful and others will be overflowing.
At the end of the year I would like to look back and say I have grown.
That I have bloomed again and again
for growth doesn’t happen all at once
but rather over time.
So my word for this year is bloom
and my hope is to have bloomed again and again.

Several months back I shared with you
My new office space which you can see here.
Upon that desk was and is a gold framed photo of the quote
Be Always Blooming.
Every day this will be my inspiration and my word of the year.
What will inspire you this year?
What is your word of the year?

I bet I considered over 100 words before I choose "bloom." It was much harder than I thought it would be. I had never chosen a word for the year before. It really made me think about what I wanted to do this year and how I wanted what I did during the year to feel at the end. It was pretty enlightening.
