My Closet Library

I have a secret place where I go that no one knows about.

Until now.

It’s my private library.

It’s not large but it holds volumes. 

And there are many stories within.

When I look around I am surrounded by 

WORDS.

Words may just be my favorite thing.

Writers share things with me here that they don’t share with their closest friends.

I can’t remember a time in which words weren’t important to me.

I can find it all in this little sanctuary of mine,

humor, truth, sadness, reality

psychology, education, 

biographies, poetry, fantasy

gardening, cooking, interior design,

and the list goes on.

All books are welcome to come and share their words with me.  

 

It’s just a little place.

Five by five.

But it works.

There is even room for some art.

There is space for my leopard covered chair, 

and a little side table.

A pretty tea cup and some motivational books are always handy. 

I think my love of color may come from the book spines. 

I do occasionally order an online book,

but I always miss seeing and looking at the cover,

and the ability to look up at my books and remember that story. 

I even have room for a few accessories. 

I always hope maybe just a little bit of Shakespeare rubs off on me.

Just a bit.

My son gave me this little silver box

with these cards in it that you can write what you wish for.

These are my sons words and at that moment his wish for himself. 

I had been wanting to get a dog, 

but I can’t do anything without researching it first.

So, after extensive research on what type of dog to get.

I decided on a malti-poo.

But I have always loved the look of the

Cavalier King Charles.

I bought this painting before Priscilla adopted us.

So if you only have a tiny room

you can still have a library, 

if you want one. 

There is only one problem.

I have more books than will fit into this space.

I think some bookcases are in order.

You thought I was going to say donate – didn’t you.

Do you have a little reading space in your home?

I like to see my books out and about.

To me my books are part of my decor, a big part.
